GETTING HERE BY CAR
After clearing Canadian Customs at Fort Frances, drive west on Hwy. 11 to Hwy. 71. Travel north on Hwy. 71 to the Trans-Canada Hwy 17, then west on Hwy 17 to 17A. Turn north on Hwy. 596, 25 miles of paved highway to Minaki. If you travel Interstate 29 to the Manitoba Border, go north on Hwy. 75. Take the Winnipeg by-pass east to Trans Canada Hwy. 1. Follow east to 17A to Hwy. 596 (Minaki turn-off).

To Winnipeg International Airport. Rental Car, Limousine service or chartered bus is available to Minaki (150 miles east of Winiipeg) Minaki Airtrip: 2800 feet of paved runway, 50 feet wide with overrun of 250 feet on each end Kenora Airport: 6000 feet hard commercial airport. The 30 miles to Minaki can be made by rental car, limousine, or chartered bus.

ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN MINAKI
Follow the sign for the Minaki Marina. This will be your arrival point for transportation to Birch Island Resort. There is ample and safe parking for your vehicle and fishing or hunting licences can be obtained here.

Hunting Licenses - Please ensure that you have in your possession when getting your Canadian Hunting License, a valid or lapse hunting license or card from your home State or previous Ontario License. Please view these very important MNR regulations at http://www.ontario.ca/hunting . Canadian Hunting Licenses cannot be issued under any circumtances without the proper accreditation. No Exceptions!!!

If you were issued an Ontatio Out-of-Doors Card for either hunting or fishing in 2009, please don't forget to bring this along with you. You will have to apply again if forgotten. If you applied a card in 2009 but did not receive one in the mail, please bring the application copy with you and a 2010 license can be issued to you. To check on the statusof your card, please go to "http://www.ontario.ca?outdoorscard"

Crossing the Canadian Border - U.S. visitors require proof of citizenship, birth certificate, drivers license or passport. Children under 18 travelling with someone other than their parents, a letter of permission is required from a parent or legal guardian. A valid passport is required to re-enter the U.S at all Border locations.

All rates are based on double occupancy. Additional payment may be required for single occupancy. No reservation will be confirmed until a deposit is received. Cheque, Visa, or Mastercard accepted. Sorry but no pets will be allowed.

Guests are responsible for the full payment of their reservation. Birch Island Resort or the Minaki Marina cannot be held liable or responsible for inclement weather, illness, family emergencies, or travel delay issues that create late arrivals or early departures. Deposits are Non-Refundable; however they can be transferred to available dates during the same calendar year.
