WHITETAIL DEER
Deer hunting in the Minaki area is fast becoming one of the prime locations in North America for “trophy sized bucks”. Located approximately 45 miles north of Kenora Ontario and the Lake of the Woods, Minaki offers its hunters the opportunity of pursuing game both on the mainland with its vast tracks of public land including logging areas and cut-over’s, or hunting the famous Winnipeg River with its many choices of points and islands. Our guides are some of the best in the area, and have many years of experience to draw from to ensure you have the hunt of a lifetime. The Non-Resident hunt starts annually on the 2nd Saturday of October and runs through November.15th. Residents can hunt until Dec 15th.


BLACK BEAR
Located in the middle of the Boreal Forest, Minaki has one of the largest populations of Trophy Black Bear in North America. The exclusive use of our registered BMA (bear management area) provides an exceptional opportunity to harvest your trophy of a lifetime. We limit our hunts to just 10 per year, which allows our resource to remain strong for years to come. Pre-baited stands are generally used to harvest Black Bear, and are generally set up 10-14 days prior to your arrival. The guides will show you their little tips and tricks to make your hunt enjoyable and rewarding. Our Black Bear hunts run from August 15 through October 15, and typically the best times are the first 3 weeks of September.

We utilize both of our locations (Birch Island Resort, and The Minaki Marina) for our hunts. The Marina offers both Motel style rooms, and a fully equipped cabin that can accommodate up to 6 people. If your group is bigger, the motel rooms are a perfect accompaniment. The cabin is fully equipped with heat, all appliances, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, linens and towels, and satellite TV. Also available at the Marina is a fully stocked store complete with groceries, pop, ice, licenses (must have approved hunting accreditation to receive an Ontario Hunting License), gas and oil, along with boat and motor rentals. It is your one-stop shopping. Birch Island Resort is utilized for our All Inclusive Bear Hunts.

If you are bringing your own boat, docking is available directly in front of your cabin or room and there is ample parking for your vehicle and trailer.

Both Deer and Bear hunts are available in choices of “All Inclusive” or “do-it-yourself” housekeeping plans. The one thing that remains constant with each plan is the commitment from all of us to ensure that your hunting experience is one that meets or exceeds your highest expectations.

Hunting licenses are available from The Minaki Marina. Approved hunting accreditation must be provided by each hunter prior to receiving your Ontario Hunting License. Hunting regulations and seasons can be viewed at www.mnr.gov.on.ca
