We have placed great importance on all staff and particularly our fishing guides. They are professionals – plus fun to be with. As with our guests, our guides return year after year and some have been with us for over twenty years.
The fishing guides spend nine hours each day with our guests. They are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and experienced. They’ll advise you on proper baits and equipment selection and put you where the fish are biting.
Birch Island Guides prepare an excellent traditional shorelunch (fried fish with our own “secret” breading mix) or try one of the guide’s other culinary specialties including: poached walleye, baked walleye or pike, lemon-dill walleye, blackened walleye or pike, or fish chowder.
If you choose to take fish home, your guide will fillet, wrap and freeze them and package them for your trip home.
