Located on Gunn Lake, part of the mighty Winnipeg River System, Birch Island is 30 miles north of the Lake of the Woods and Kenora Ontario. There are approximately 45 miles of the Winnipeg River and five large lakes connected onto the system, with no portage required.

I have been fishing and staying at Birch Island Resort since 1999. My entire family and many others go with us. The service and fishing are outstanding. This year we will have 15 going.

I have been to many lodges in 50+ trips since 1988 across Ontario and Manitoba, from the French River, Lake of the Woods, Eagle Lake, and the Winnipeg River. Birch Island Resort surpasses them all.
